Fun fact: This 2019 creation can still be seen flitting about Pinterest, breaking hearts and ruining good days, and has been used by various companies to falsely advertise high contrast wigs, silver colored hair gel, etc. The blend. The contrast. She’s icy. She’s drippin’. She faded to a murky green mess in less than 3 weeks. A perfect example of ✨Unrealistic Pinterest Hair✨ It’s glorious and beautiful and I’m so proud of it. But it also taught me that even though these colors may be realistically achievable when starting with a fully platinum canvas and makes for some killer content, it’s exceedingly tricky to execute and even trickier to maintain at home. I 100% always explain the vast list of cons when a client presents me with this or similar inspo pics, because even with perfect at home maintenance and stellar upkeep, this palette and placement present a slew of difficulties for future appointments, and I’m always thinking at least 2 appointments ahead for my hair baddies. I will never shame a client for showing me Pinterest hair, or AI hair, or a wig, no matter how unrealistic I think it is, because it’s MY job to know the how and why, to be honest about the process, and to provide other options that can reasonably fulfill all your fairy hair dreams. Show me a whole Pinterest board, idgaf. I want to see inside your brain and the best way to flesh out your likes and dislikes is through pictures.
