Shampooing is typically our top contributor to color fade-out. Here are some tips to keep your color looking awesome while maintaining clean, healthy happy hair and scalp!

• Use a professional color-safe shampoo (purchased from a professional or licensed retailer like Ulta and Sephora.)

• Use lukewarm water or cooler. Washing with hot water contributes to premature fading. (I know we all like showering in the sixth circle of Hell. Just keep your hair outta there.)

• Shampoo as infrequently as possible. Since we see the most fade after washing, shampooing one to two times per week will help keep your color longer.

• Use dry shampoo to freshen up and absorb oils between wash days.

• Avoid prolonged sun exposure, chlorine, and salt-water. Keeping your hair up or covered while swimming or at the beach is integral to maintaining your color!

• Use a heat protectant when curling or straightening your hair. Direct contact with high temperatures is damaging to our hair and color. Using a thermal protecting product will help minimize damage.

• Keep hot tools (curling iron, straighteners, etc) below 365° and ensure your hair is fully dry before styling.
